How to Press Using a Cricut Easypress?

DTF Runner

Position Your Design

You do NOT have to pre-iron your shirt — Your transfer will press just fine as is! Place the transfer wherever you like. This is about 3-4 inches down the front of adult t-shirts, 2-3 inches down the front of youth t-shirts and an inch lower on a similar garment for a women on it back side.

The best option to determine it will be to dtf transfer 1 tshirt and try. That way you'll be a little more confident in using it across the rest of your products.

Press

Cricut temperature 320 degrees for 20 seconds. Literally if the transfer is sticking to your shirt TURN UP THE HEAT by 15 degrees until it does. Do not just overpress your design so keep trying until you get it right!

Mask with parchment paper or a Protective Guard Sheet and press for 20 seconds on hard pressure *

Keep in mind that you can not overpress your transfers. The more they are pressed, the better strength they have through washing and drying.

Let it Cool. Then Peel.

Care to cool: Before removing the press- Let the transfer sit until it is completely cooled. A minimum of 15-30 seconds for quicker results. When completely cool, gently lift one corner of the transfer and peel back. This is something we use to say in the dojo, and it goes something like… when peeling; use your eyes not your hands so that each piece of what you design sticks on your item.

If not, stop peeling and press again following the instructions above. Not all of the design will have properly transferred; IF SOME OR ALL OF THE DESIGN WAS NOT TRANSFERRING PROPERLY AND IT WAS COOL TO TOUCH WHEN PEELING – there was not enough heat, pressure or time. Reposition your transfer file back into place, repress your transfer again but with additional pressure and time added first(+5 seconds) If that fails, raise the heat setting until you do so. The truth is, you could NEVER OVERPRESS and DAMAGE the transfer.

Final Press

Cover with included Parchment paper or a layer of t-shirt material Press a second time at the same settings for 20 seconds to weaken design, add durability and remove any shinny finish.

If you wish to have one more glossy look, you may need our Protecting Guard Sheet for exactly the same.

How to Wash

Best if washed inside out with cold water. Hang Dry Only (The heat from the dryer is heavier and will eliminate glue on platen being that you are using an cricut versus a heatpress (less pressure, less evenly heating) If you must use a dryer — low heat inside out.

Note that everyone uses a different iron, heat or pressure and test what process works the best for you. And always remember, you just cannot overdo your transfers. The more they are pressed the better the durability for when washing and drying.
