Follow these four simple steps to ensure your DTFRunner UV DTF transfers adhere correctly and achieve professional results.

1. Prep Your Surface and Pre-Squeegee Your UV DTF Transfer

Prepping the Area - A clean surface is essential for successful UV DTF application. Wipe the application area with a 50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% water mixture or glass cleaner. Ensure all grease, dust, and fingerprints are completely removed. Wait until the surface is completely dry - moisture weakens adhesion. The cleaner the surface, the longer it will endure natural elements, washing, and wear and tear. Although it will adhere without this, it is highly recommended.

Important Note: Extra care is required for porous wood, painted, or coated surfaces. These types of surfaces can make UV DTF transfer adhesion more difficult.

Pre-Squeegee - After cutting your UV DTF transfer to the desired size, place the design on a flat surface with the white backing layer facing up. Using a squeegee or plastic card, apply firm and even pressure across the entire design. Repeat this process 3-4 times.

Professional Tip: Apply extra pressure to areas with thin letters, small details, and fine lines - these areas are more delicate.

2. Preparing Your UV DTF Transfer for Application

Flip the UV DTF transfer over and begin slowly separating the clear top layer from the white backing layer. Gently peel the two layers apart, watching to ensure the whole design lifts off onto the top clear layer. Check to ensure the design remains on the top clear layer as you proceed.

Critical: If any part of the design stays on the backing layer, stop immediately. Put the layers back together, apply extra pressure with the squeegee to that area, and try peeling from a different corner. Don't rush - patience is crucial especially with detailed UV DTF designs. Designs which contain thin lines and small separated elements, such as small text, should be peeled slower. You'll get a feel for it with experience.

Important reminder: Peel with your EYES, not just your hands.

3. Placing Your UV DTF Transfer Onto Your Item

First, identify your application area and position the UV DTF sticker.

For smaller designs (up to 10 cm): Carefully place the UV DTF transfer onto the placement area with two hands controlling the placement. Place the UV DTF transfer in one motion and press lightly.

For larger designs (15 cm and above): You may find it easier to place the UV DTF transfer starting from one side and ending at the other. Apply gradually starting from one edge. This technique will help control your placement, prevent air bubbles underneath the design, ensure smooth placement, and avoid wrinkling of the carrier sheet which could cause design elements being offset and/or design overlapping.

Warning: The UV DTF transfer begins adhering the moment it touches the surface. Repositioning after initial contact is very difficult, so double-check placement beforehand.

Tip: Leave a corner of the carrier sheet unpressed to the product for easy peeling.

4. Completing the Transfer Process

After placing the UV DTF transfer, apply firm and even pressure across the entire surface with the squeegee. Firmly squeegee it 3-4 times. Pay special attention to edges and corners. Now slowly peel the top clear film at a low angle.

Use Your Eyes: Peel slowly, watching to ensure all elements stick. Continuously ensure the UV DTF design remains on the surface as the film is removed. Again, use your EYES and not just your hands. If any section tries to lift with the film, or if any part of the design is not adhering, press that area back down, lay the carrier sheet back down, reapply with the squeegee and try peeling from a different direction.

Care and Durability Recommendations

• Do not touch or wet the UV DTF transfer for the first 24 hours
• Prefer hand washing, do not use dishwasher
• Keep away from harsh chemicals and abrasive materials
• Avoid contact with sharp objects

Troubleshooting

• If air bubbles form: Pierce with a needle tip and smooth with squeegee
• If edges lift: Try applying gentle heat (hair dryer on low setting)
• If UV DTF doesn't adhere: Repeat surface preparation, the UV DTF transfer may be too old
